'ELECTRICITY ANIMATION'
CLICK TO WATCH ↓
An animation made in 2025 which tested my visual effects in animation, and how well I could animate and experiment with stylistic visuals outside of characters. At the time, I chose for this to be lightning and smoke, and used this to learn more about 'impact frames', frames of animation which are visually striking, primarily with black and white' to emphasise the impact of an object. I used this to convey the effect of lightning hitting a screen and exploding.
As well as this, I used the plot and concept to create a small story from it and describe what is happening, which I was going to extend further at the time before other projects came along. I rigged an announcer who was watching the screen itself reacting to the explosion, furthering my development into facial expressions and fluidity, and overall matched the colourful effects and intensity of the scene.
